Abstract
Introduction: Exclusive breastfeeding is considered as optimal feeding method for infants
with numerous benefits for both mother and infant therefore improves maternal health and
reduce neonatal and infant mortality. As recommended by WHO and UNICEF, child should
breastfeed only breast milk that start within first hour of birth and last for at least 6 months of
age. Globally, exclusive breastfeeding rate is 38%, however the World health assembly 2012
the target is to increase the rate at least 50% by 2025. The aim of this study was to identify the
knowledge, attitude and practice of exclusive breast feeding among postpartum mothers.
