ASSESSMENT OF FACTORS INFLUENCING POOR USE OF ANTENATAL CARE ATTENDANCE AMONG TEENAGE MOTHERS AT KIBOGORA HEALTH CENTER IN RWANDA.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the factors that hinder the use of antenatal care among teenage mothers at kibogora health center in Rwanda. Specific objectives were:1) To assess the knowledge of the teenage mothers related ANC services mainly at Kibogora health center.2) To assess the Factors that Hinder the attendance of antenatal care among the teenage mothers at Kibogora health center. In Africa same as in other continents the poor use of ANC is still threatening issue where like in south Africa has experienced rapid increase in teenage pregnancy during covid-19 pandemic where a total 58% of the pregnant adolescents had their first ANC visit > 3 months. The study adopted cross sectional study design with quantitative approach. The study includes the target population of 63 teenage mothers and the sample size of 40 against 54 that was calculated.
